Sunday morning

My roommate is back in town. She arrived from SF late last night. I haven't seen her yet - was over at John's house watching the beginning of 81/2 and sleeping. Now I'm home and she's asleep, which is pretty typical. Even on a normal weekend she won't get out of bed until the early afternoon.
On Friday night Gillian and her sister and Nathalie came over. We went out to Happy Village Pub, which was really small and seemed very local. We only live 8 blocks away, but I felt like an outsider. We moved onto the Lava Lounge on my block and had a few drinks, but got kicked out at 2 when the bar closed. Gillian and her sister went to bed and me, John and Nathalie headed out for Estelles. I hadn't been there yet, but it was pretty cool. Too corwded for my liking, but when we got a booth is was a lot better, aided by the fact that they have cocktail waitresses so you don't need to wait at the bar.
On Saturday me and JC walked around and found things in alleys for his apartment. People put out the wierdest stuff. We found a ceramic duck cookie jar. It looks like it spent some time in somebodies garden, but I guess they got tired of it. There was a lso a ceramic pedestal sick with fixtures and a ceramic toilet. We didn't get them since we have nowhere to put them, but if I owned property I would grab them in a second. Wonder why somebody didn't want them anymore - they can be really expesnive. We also found a bookcase, a desk, a dresser and four table legs with a frame and cross bracing so all we need to do is buy a top. Everything is in great shape, and it was fun to collect. At first it was just me and John on foot carrying things back to the apartment, but once Colleen got home we cruised up and down the alleys in her van. Now they need a couch, which will have to be bought. I may scavenge fromj the alleys, but I won't take anything with fabric. I may be poor, but I'm not a student anymore!
